Beautifully and strongly engraved plan of Madras (Chennai) and Fort St. Georges. The title cartouche includes a key to fourteen features on the map including the Govenours house, barracks, housing, and more. Across the river from the fort is a second fortified position with ramparts and a draw bridge connecting them. A road and bridge join the fort complex to the Maison de Plaisance du Gouverneur. La Ville Noire is to the north . An uncommon plan that was engraved by Croisey.
