Large map of the region of the world that was known in classical times, with up-to-date detail of topography and place names. The Nile River is shown with its Ptolemaic source in the Lunae Montes, which is located above the equator. Inset at top left is "Indiae Extra Ganem pars Reliqua" showing the Malay Peninsula on the same scale. The decorative title cartouche is flanked by two scholars.
