Fine miniature map focused on the North Pacific, including Northwestern America and Japan. While designed to illustrate the expansive Kingdom of the Great Khan in Asia, its main feature is the Stretto di Anian and the depiction of Northwestern America. The map covers northern Russia, China, and an enlarged depiction of Japan shown just off the American shore, dwarfing the rather misshapen California peninsula. It is decorated with two elaborate cartouches. The map was originally included in Magini's Geographia and here was reissued by Alphonsus Lasor a Varea. On a full sheet of Latin text with an illustration of a Tartarian chieftain above the map and a map of Terracina, Italy (7 x 4.8") on the verso.
