This full page map is bound in the original annual report describing the "Progress of the Union Pacific Railroad West from Omaha, Nebraska, Across the Continent, Making, with its Connections, an Unbroken Line from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean," published by the railroad from New York on Sept. 20, 1868. This 8vo booklet has beautifully printed covers showing allegorical female figures representing Asia and America. The report has articles covering Progress of the Work, Agricultural Resources, Mineral Wealth, Branch and Connecting Roads, Future of the Company, and a description of the line's First Mortgage Bonds. We find no recent pricing information or other references to this early annual railroad report.
