This is a great California Gold Rush lettersheet. The two page sheet has four lithographed scenes on the front panel. They are "Slap Jacks" showing a man flipping pancakes over a fire in front of his tent while four men wait for breakfast; "Rush for new Diggings" has numerous miners loaded and with a few mules and ox teams on the move; in "Tree'd" a dandy is high in a tree with a black bear just below; and "Nooning" is a typical camp scene with four miners preparing their meal with tents in the background These lettersheets were sold to miners to use as stationary. This example is unused with three panels blank. Lithography by Britton & Rey of San Francisco. A rare issue.
