This great map of the state lists 21 railroads including some uncommon rails like the Crystal River. Decorative Victorian-style title cartouche. The counties are hand colored but the state's border is outlined in printed color. It was common to mix these techniques as map makers moved from labor intensive hand coloring to printed color that was applied by machine. County development is current to 1893 with the addition of Mineral from parts of Hinsdale, Saguache and Rio Grande counties. Excellent detail of mining districts, early roads and railroads with the topography shown via hachure. A beautiful example.
