1) Les Couronnes du Nord …, by Jean Janvier, from Lattre's Atlas Moderne, 1762 (17.5 x 12"). Attractively engraved chart of Finland, Norway and Sweden. Good detail includes fjords, lakes and rivers, and numerous place names. Scope extends to include part of England and Scotland, Poland, European Russia, Prussia and Denmark. Decorative monument-style cartouche with crest accents. Light stains at sides and a faint damp stain under the cartouche. (B+)
2) Royaume de Suede…, by Chanlaire & Mentelle, from Atlas Universel, circa 1800 (16.5 x 12.7"). This is a nicely detailed map of the Kingdom of Sweden that takes in much of present-day Finland. The map was drawn by Andre and engraved by Tardieu. Printed on fine paper with an elaborate signature watermark. The bottom centerfold is separated in the margin. (A)
