This very handsome map of the northern Netherlands is boldly engraved in Coronelli's style. It is oriented by a small compass rose with north at upper right. The fortified cities of Amsterdam, Hoorn, Haerlem, Alkmaar and Edam are prominently located. The region is filled with a meticulous portrayal of the canals, dykes, windmills, and polders, a large number of which are named. A dedication banner and coat of arms is supported by five sea-daimones.
