Jaillot drew this superb, two-sheet, map of France based on Sanson's earlier work after he joined Sanson's heirs in business. The map extends to include much of central Europe reflecting the apogee of King Louis the XIV's power. It is filled with minute detail and is embellished with two large and elaborately decorated cartouches that fill the Atlantic. There is an additional title in the top margin: "Le Royaume de France Divise en Toutes ses Provinces…"
