Uncommon and rarely seen pair of miniature celestial charts depicting the "Pole Arctique" and the "Pole Antarctique." The Milky Way is clearly shown. The signs of the zodiac are displayed in their allegorical forms, including Scorpio and Sagittarius, and many other dramatic representations of constellations, like Le Grand Chien (the big dog), crowd the skies. Legend at bottom identifies the stars with letters. Blank verso.

Both are nice examples with full margins and good color. The Arctic plate is a particularly dark and early impression.
