This miniature map covers the Ancona region along the coast of the Adriatic. For such a small map, it provides excellent information on the rivers and locates scores of villages. The maps of this rival to Ortelius' pocket atlas were engraved by two of the finest Flemish engravers: brothers-in-law Jodocus Hondius and Pieter van den Keere. This map was engraved by Van den Keere, with his Latinized name (P. Kaerius) imprinted in the top right corner. This is the scarce first state without degrees of latitude in the borders. Dutch text on verso.

There is a light manuscript ink notation in the lower margin and the lower right margin has been trimmed, still leaving a very wide margin.
