This uncommon little map is from a history and geography book for Catholic students. The huge northwest coast of North America is marked Terra Incognitae. There is a pictorial title cartouche depicting Benedictine monks bringing Christianity to the New World. Desing was an eighteenth century Benedictine monk of Ensdorf who devoted his life to scientific studies and was a member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences.

Condition: B+

Old color with some minor foxing. There is ink residue or offsetting on the verso with slight show through on the map. The centerfold is separated in the blank margin at left.
