This remarkable advertising map of Los Angeles is drawn on a circle with a rotating pointer centered on a metal rivet. The map extends to include Ascot Park, Hollywood, Highland Park, Boyle Heights, Huntington Park, Inglewood, South Pasadena, etc. Locates Hollywood Cemetery, Elysian Park, East Lake Park, Evergreen Cemetery, Calvary Cemetery, Exposition Park, South Park, Griffith Park and more. The map features a unique, and remarkably easy to use, locating pointer that is indexed to the nearly 2,000 place names on verso. The circle has 96 numbers around the circumference and the pointer has the letters A to Z. The combination of the two determines exact locations. The pointer, which is usually missing from these maps, is present and in fine condition. At left is an advertising panel for the Security Trust & Savings Bank with the notation "This is a Free Map." On verso are two panels of additional advertising for the bank, listing its capital and the location of the 53 branches. Printed on stiff paper, it folds into self-wrappers with the aforementioned bank panels composing the covers.
