Handsome large map of the western states, with large early territories, and the whole of Mexico. Washington, Oregon, Utah and New Mexico are all shown at their largest extents. Nebraska and Kansas fill the entire central plains, and Minnesota extends to the Missouri River. The map includes striking and quite accurate topographical features and extensive details on forts, roads, Indian tribes, and settlements. It is particularly noteworthy for the number of roads and trails shown.
