Dutch Bible map of the Holy Land depicting the Exodus from Egypt and the wanderings of the Children of Israel. The lower part of the map is elaborately engraved with a scene of the encampment of the Children of Israel and Moses receiving the Ten Commandments at Mt. Sinai. The title cartouche is flanked by Adam & Eve. The map is further decorated with a convoy of ships bringing cedar for the building of Solomon's Temple and Jonas & the whale. The map is based on that of Nicolaes Berchem, whose popular designs were copied for many Dutch bibles in the late 17th and early 18th centuries.
