This is from the series of facsimile atlases published by Theatrum Orbis Terrarum Ltd. of Amsterdam. It is the complete English edition of 1606, printed for John Norton and John Bill, which was the only English edition of Ortelius' great atlas. The introduction by R.A. Skelton provides a biographical sketch of Abraham Ortelius and reveals much about the book trade of the seventeenth century. Hardbound in red buckram with dust jacket. Limited edition of 800 copies.
