This terrific pocket map of the city is loaded with information for the traveler, including railroads, ferry lines and a "thousand interesting attractions". This third edition includes updates to 1897 with all reclamation and grown noted. Updates include the addition of color to parks and in place names, and with the addition of overprinted color and line to delineate Surface, Subway and Elevated railways. The map was drawn by Tilly Haynes, Proprietor of the United States Hotel Co., and was distributed by the hotel to the public as a means of advertising. Printed on fine bank note style paper with blank verso. The title continues to carry the date 1883 but the copyright includes 1894 and 1897. A beautiful example.
