This regional map was prepared for Peter the Great's survey and published by the Geographic Department of the Imperial Academy of Science. It shows the region northwest of the Black Sea, between the rivers Don and Volga. It provides a very detailed view of the rivers, lakes, and settlements. The map appeared in both Russian (Cyrillic) and Latin versions with both being very scarce.
