Reduced version of Hondius' folio map of Cyprus with insets of the Mediterranean islands; Lemnos (Stalimini), Chios, Lesbos (Mitilene), Euboia (Negroponte), Kythera (Cerigo) and Rhodes. On a full sheet (8 x 12.2") of English text. This map is from Samuel Purchas' publication which is one of the largest and most important collections of voyages and travels in the English language. The four volumes describe the major voyages of exploration and discovery prior to 1625. Most of the maps were originally from the Mercator/Hondius Atlas Minor.
