This is a very uncommon version of Pierre Mortier's map of the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East published by Jacques Desray. It illustrates the travels of St. Paul and includes more of Egypt and the Arabian Peninsula than other similar maps, although detail is confined to the coastal regions. The map was precisely engraved by Mademoiselle Glot.
