An interesting and detailed map of the southern tip of Africa with an inset titled "Continuation of Map on a reduced Scale showing Dr. Livingstone's Travel between the Years 1849 & 1856." The regions still dominated by indigenous nations are noted with the various Bantu tribes and Great Bushman Land. The coastal territories of the Portuguese and British colonies are packed with information including early roads. The Boer Orange River Free State and Trans Vaal Republic are also clearly marked.

There are some faint spots and offsetting, and a couple minor edge tears not affecting the map. A short fold separation at top has been repaired with tissue on verso.
