Large map of the region of the world that was known in classical times, with up-to-date detail of topography and place names. The Nile River is shown with its Ptolemaic source in the Lunae Montes, which is located above the equator in addition to its correct source. A wind rose at upper left gives the Latin names for the winds. The decorative title cartouche is flanked by two scholars.
