This appealing map of ancient Sicily is based largely on Gastaldi and classical sources. Aetna and Isola Vulcano are shown erupting. The map is embellished with a galley ship, a sea monster and a garland draped title cartouche.

The binding trim at upper right has been replaced to accommodate framing. There is a small rust spot in the map.
