This little map of Asia is a pleasing composition that encapsulates the state of geographic knowledge at the end of the 17th century. A dotted line forms the Siberian coastline reflecting the paucity of information available for this region. The Caspian Sea is shown on a correct north-south axis. The Arabian peninsula is no longer subdivided along classical lines. The Molucca Is. are prominently located in the East Indies. Printed on a full sheet of English text with a glowing description of the continent. Page 28 appears above the title cartouche along with page 341 in the upper margin, indicating this was published in the third edition of Morden's Geography.
