1) Morrison's Stranger's Guide for Washington City, by W.H. & O.H. Morrison, 1880, (17" x 20"). Folding pocket map, uncolored, shows a wide view of the city to include Georgetown and Uniontown. With radiating concentric circles showing distance in miles from the Capitol. Locates important buildings and has good railroad detail. Folds into orange covers "Morrison's Stranger's Guide for Washington City. With numerous Engravings and Map," (4.5 x 6.8") with the 52 page guide book. The guide book is divided into three touring days and discusses all important monuments and buildings with numerous illustrations. The map has a few short fold splits at intersection with archival tape on verso, an interior tear where pasted into covers. (B)

2) Souvenir of Washington from the Lambert Pharmacal Co. of Saint Louis, Missouri., circa 1887, (5 x 3.3"). This picture book features 15 collotype views on a 16 page accordion fold out display. The first image is the double page "Panorama from the Capitol." The other images show important buildings and monuments including the White House, Washington Monument, Tomb of George Washington, Albaughs Grand Opera House, and so on. The images fold into red cloth hardbound covers in a fancy presentation "Souvenir of Washington from the Lambert Pharmacal Co. of Saint Louis, Missouri." The folding 7 page booklet "Programme International Medical Congress, September 5th to 10th" lists the itinerary and a section on Places of Interest. With a greeting from the president of Lambert Pharmacal in English, French and German. (A+)
