This scarce pocket map was published in the Emigrants Handbook of Iowa by Henn, Williams & Co., Fairfield, Iowa and Charles Desilver, Philadelphia. The 1855 edition is virtually identical, but was published by R. L. Barnes rather than Desliver, both of Philadelphia. The highly detailed land promotion map was drawn from U. S. Surveys, official information and personal reconnaissance and other sources according to the full title. Henn, Williams & Co. were dealers in lands, warrants and exchanges who made investments in Iowa. Decorative titling and remarkable detail throughout including wagon roads and smaller settlements than often seen. At upper right is an inset advertisement for Henn, Williams & Co., listing their offices in Fairfield, Chariton and Council Bluffs.

The folding map has some old archival tape repairs on verso to support weak folds. There are some fold splits and fold intersection splits.
