This detailed and colorful map of New York state was engraved by J. Yeaker and published by Samuel C. Atkinson in his "The National Atlas and Sunday Morning Call." The map is still attached to the Sunday, September 4, 1836 issue as originally issued. The map is hand colored by county with red lines depicting the canal system and blue lines to delineate immerging railroad system. Along the right edge are three distance tables from New York City to Albany, Niagara, and Philadelphia. The magazine covers world and national events with some wood engraved illustrations including one of Philadelphia from the "Foot of Market Street." The last page has an ad for this weekly magazine stating each month will include a map of the various states. A very scare issue, more so with the map attached.
