Scarce sea chart centering roughly on the vicinity of present-day Aracaju. The map is detailed with soundings, currents, shoals and anchorages with particular emphasis on the mouths of the rivers. The map is richly embellished with rhumb lines, compass roses and sailing ships. The striking title cartouche features natives with their weaponry and the scales cartouche features Neptune and a youth blowing a large conch shell.
