This attractive map, covering northern Africa from Tripoli to the Red Sea, is from a Dutch edition of Sanson's pocket atlas. The topography is mostly spurious with numerous mountain ranges and oases prominently located. The map is embellished with a bold title cartouche festooned with fruit symbolizing the fertility of the Nile valley. Engraved by A. d'Winter.
