Following the model popularized by Frederick de Wit a century before, Norway is presented in two parts. This design used the surface area of the sheet of paper more efficiently. The southern regions are detailed on the main map with North Norway shown in a large inset. The Faroe Islands are also inset. Franz Ludwig Gussefeld was a cartographer from Osterburg who worked with the firm of Homann's Heirs in the latter part of the 18th century. A French title, Le Royaume de Norvegue, nouvellement…, is in the top margin.
