This detailed map of northwestern Italy is centered on Milan, and extends from the Lake Districts and the Coast of Liguria to Mantua and Modean. The map features two decorative cartouches. The title cartouche includes a cherub with symbols of the Holy Roman Empire, an urn spilling its contents representing the great rivers of the region, and beehives symbolizing both wisdom and one of the major industries of the region. The legend cartouche includes the coat of arms of the Duchy of Milan.
