These five beautiful steel engraved views are the result of surveys for potential railway routes conducted between the Mississippi River and the Pacific Ocean in 1854. Numerous landmarks are identified in each view. Based on drawings from W. Egloffstein, the views were engraved by C. Schumann and published by Selmar Siebert in Washington, D.C.

Issued folding, with faint toning along some folds and a few fold separations in blank margins, far from images. Binding holes at far left in blank margin.
