This miniature map shows the seventeenth century territorial acquisitions of Sweden within Germany, including the islands of Rugen, Usedom, and Wolin in the Baltic Sea, and three small areas in northern Germany. The map depicts major towns and key topographical features. Pierre Duval was Nicolas Sanson's nephew and pupil. He published a wide range of atlases and individual maps including a fine miniature world geography with many of the maps based on Sanson.
