This fully engraved map of Switzerland is based on previous maps by Hans Conrad Gyger and published works describing the region by Josias Simmler. The map features an elaborate key explaining the geographical divisions of Switzerland at bottom flanked by a cherub holding the flag of Switzerland. A decorative cartouche fills the upper-right corner surrounded by flowers and putti.

There is a vertical crease adjacent to centerfold and a light stain that enters map image at bottom left. There is an abrasion and some brown ink marks on the cherub at bottom, and an orange line in right blank margin that just enters neatline.
