The map is focused on the area surrounding the Black Sea. It extends east from the Adriatic Sea to the Caspian Sea in the west, with Hungary to the north and Syria to the south. Boundaries of the Ottoman and the Russian Empires are shown in red and green, respectively. There is also a detailed inset of The Bosphorus and Vicinity and a legend showing populations and an etymological index.
