Great copper engraved map of Southeast Asia covering the area from Burma to New Guinea, showing all of Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. There is an indistinct channel between Papua and New Guinea giving the impression of two separate landmasses. The northern part of Australia and the Gulf of Carpentaria is just visible. Most of the small islands are also shown. There are many place name including Malacca, Aceh (Acheen), Batavia (Jakarta), etc. Engraved by Thomas Conder.

Nice impression on hand laid paper with full, original margins. There is a small chip at the lower left corner and a small tear in right margin repaired with archival material on verso, not impacting the image. Very faint sporadic staining and toning and a few light pencil marks by Papua New Guinea and south of Timor.
