This lot contains Volume I and II of Studer's Popular Ornithology. The title page on the first volume notes there are 119 full-page plates. The volumes appear complete, but the pages and plates have not been collated. This is a great collection of colored and single-tint lithographs including hawks and eagles, water birds, song birds, wood peckers, humming birds, and more. The plates were made from drawings by Theodore Jasper. Although the plate numbering includes both Roman and Arabic numerals and are not all in order, a helpful index is included at the front of volume I. Folio, hardbound in blue pebble cloth with 3/4 calf. 182 pp. of text.
