This complete atlas is much sought after for its great number of large maps. Our count shows a total of 109 colorful maps composed of 36 single page and 75 double page maps. The double page maps are folded and pasted to a backstrap from the spine as were earlier atlases, but are usually printed both sides. All of the maps are accomplished using several colors resulting in handsome images. The atlas includes details on railroads and post offices. Hardbound in red cloth with embossed gilt title. Elephant folio, 291pp. The publisher added a correction regarding railroad ownership, printed on yellow paper and pasted onto p. 159.

Condition: B
The vast majority of maps are in fine condition. Parts of top and bottom of spine are missing, and spine and covers are coming loose with some staining. A stain in upper corner enters the map images of the first few maps, and a minor damp stain in bottom corner is primarily confined to blank margins.
