This is a very large uncommon map of Wheeler County, Texas published by Hedrick Mapping Company. These maps were intended for oil and gas producers and divides the land into property squares with their present ownership. The upper right has a legend with 3 oil wells, one of which is gushing. The legend has icons found on the map for drilling wells, producing wells, gas wells, abandoned wells, and dry holes. The scales is given as 1 inch = 2000 Varas (5,555 feet or a little more than a mile). The map is printed in blue.
