This geographic books consists of two parts - the first focusing on the "General View of the Terraqueous Globe" and the second focused on the "Particular View of the Terraqueous Globe" with copper-engraved plates by John Senex (each measures 8.3 x 6.3"). In this example, 16 (of 17) maps are present with only the World map missing. 12 of the maps are focused on Europe, with one each of Asia, Africa, North America and South America. The North America map features California as an Island and a huge blank area in Northwestern North America. 12mo, 432 pp. Hardbound in original half-calf with marbled paper boards and gilt title on spine.

The maps are generally fine to very good. The England and Ireland maps have some light offsetting while the Asia and South America maps each have a tiny stain. Text pages are generally clean and tight. Covers are slightly worn and bumped.
