These scarce, copper engraved charts show the area surrounding Veracruz, Mexico and Santa Marta, Colombia. These charts were made during the important Spanish expedition to accurately chart the coastline from the Gulf of Mexico through the island of Trinidad. Cadiz, Spain is the prime meridian and each sheet is filled with soundings, navigational hazards and some basic inland detail.
