This beautiful aquatint depicts the Pool of Bethesda, which is believed to be a place of healing, on the path of the Beth Zeta Valley. The Gospel of John describes the pool as being near the Sheep Gate and surrounded by five covered colonnades. Engraved by Luigi Mayer and published by R. Bowyer.
