This map of Asia by Solomon Bolton is an update to D'Anville's map of 1755. It is on 4 separate sheets that would measure 29 x 30" if assembled. The map covers the region from the Black Sea south to the Arabian Sea and west to Russia and India. There are many interesting notes that explain the significance of the sites, such as, "The Island of Ceilon is undoubtedly the Taprobana of Ptolemy, tho some Authors, for want of due Examination, have thought otherwise."

There is a 1" tear through the neatline into the distance scale of the lower left sheet and a 0.5" chip in the lower right sheet just extending into the neatline. The four sheets have some offsetting and light toning and the left side margins are slightly crumpled from where it attached to the book and show the binding holes.
