A. Dawson's Map of the Dominion of Canada, by Dawson Brothers, dated 1881, printed colored (32.5 x 21.5"). Attractive and highly detailed map of Eastern Canada and the Northeastern United States. It shows roads, railroads, rivers and political boundaries and has four inset maps of Montreal, Newfoundland, Manitoba and a continuation of the map to the Pacific Ocean. Dissected and backed with linen and folds into blue cloth-covered boards. Condition: Map is in very good condition with a little minor soiling, while the covers have a few small stains and the spine is reinforced with archival tape. There are a few ink notations on the inside front cover. (B+)

B. Canada its History, Productions and Natural Resources, by George Johnson, dated 1904, printed color (6 x 8.8"). This 176 pp. promotional book was produced for the Louisiana Purchase Exposition by the Canadian Department of Agriculture. It is filled with Canadian facts and statistics and contains 5 large maps loose in the front and rear pockets. There are maps of Canada, British Columbia, Manitoba and surrounding provinces, Ontario and Quebec, and the Maritime Provinces. They range in size from 13 x 24" to 17 x 36". 176 pp., 8vo with red cloth covers and gilt title on front cover. Condition: The maps are good to very good with a few of the maps having a few fold separations and short splits at fold intersections, some of which have been repaired and reinforced on verso. The Maritime Provinces map has a bit of loss near the title cartouche. The book has staining on the covers but is sound and mostly clean on the inside. (B)
