Large pocket map that folds into 3 x 6" brown paper wrappers with the title "Rand-McNally Vest Pocket Map of Texas." The map is colorful and detailed, and contains a key that names and locates 80 railroads with red overprinting. A similar 1904 edition lists only 51 railroads, hinting at the rapid expansion in commercial activities. A large inset shows the southern tip of the state to Brownsville with a portion of Mexico. At left is an index noting the principal cities and the verso contains a much larger index of "counties, creeks, islands, lakes, mountains, rivers and towns."
