This lovely map is based on one of the most famous 17th Century maps of the continent of Europe - Blaeu's Europa recens descripta. The map extends to include Iceland, the mythical island of Frisland, and the coast of Greenland. It is adorned with a decorative title cartouche, sailing ships and a sea monster.

A slightly uneven impression on watermarked paper with a few printer's creases and two stains that just enter map at right and left.
