This handsome map of Bohemia features pictorial representations of both the topography and the cities, including Prague (Prag), Dresden, Passau, and Krakow (Cracau). The Elbe (Albis) and Oder Rivers and their tributaries flow throughout the region. The map is adorned with a distance scale and a title cartouche featuring the coat of arms of the region and the Virgin Mary holding baby Jesus. Henrich Scherer, a mathematics professor and Jesuit, produced his seven-part Atlas Novus to emphasize the extent of Catholic influence in the New World.
