Handsome bird's-eye plan of the city and fortifications of Jakarta, the capital of the Dutch East Indies. A detailed lettered and numbered key identifies the buildings and sites of importance. Charming layout includes fields, trees, and a compass rose, which orients the plan with north to the right. This map was published in Antoine Francois Prevost d'Exiles' influential collection of travel narratives, L'Histoire Generale des Voyages. Engraved by Guillaume Dheulland.
