This is a very rare mining broadside showing the numerous claims in the Cripple Creek Mining District of El Paso County. The map was issued by the Evening Telegraph of Colorado Springs and compiled from official surveys by Edward S. Snell, U.S. Deputy Mineral Surveyor. Consistent with other mining maps of the time period, this map shows very good detail of the overlapping claims, presented in a rather chaotic but clear patchwork pattern.

There are three areas of image loss: two areas are small and along the border, while the third area of loss is approximately 4" x 6" at bottom left with little loss of information. Professionally backed with tissue to stabilize the map, along with a few minor pencil notations and two damp stains at lower right.
