This bird's-eye view of the Milwaukee Electric Railway shows the electric rail lines in the greater Milwaukee area. The view is from Lake Michigan looking west over the four counties which make up the southeast corner of Wisconsin. The map is a product of the Northwestern Lithograph Company of Milwaukee and was produced for John I. Beggs, an entrepreneur, industrialist and financier closely associated with the electric utility boom under Thomas Edison. Detail includes buildings, waterways, lakes and five named ferries heading for cities across the lake.
